Methanol engine (also known as diesel-methanol dual fuel combustion), referred to as DMCC, is a specific way for methanol to be applied in compression combustion internal combustion engines proposed by researchers of Kangwo Holdings and Hechai Power Research Institute. This combustion mode is that pure diesel is used to start, and after fully warming the car (the general engine coolant temperature reaches or exceeds 65 。C), it is switched to a homogeneous mixture of diesel and methanol to burn together in the cylinder. According to this combustion method, the problems of hard cold start, easy compression combustion and immiscibility of diesel fuel in the application of methanol in compression combustion engine are solved, and the combustion characteristics of methanol and diesel fuel with different properties are fully brought into play.
